Skogen, Flickan och Flaskan (Woods, Women and Wine)
Quite the best CD to have in your Medieval music collection, a wonderful collection of bawdy songs performed in Swedish and Latin. The CD booklet has all the lyrics, and descriptions of Medieval instruments. Highly enjoyable, but hard to obtain.

Sequentiae (director: Karl Ruhland)
Gregorian chant CD's were very popular a few years ago, so there are quite a few non-descript ones around. Avoid Christmas and Easter compilations, and ones in French instead of Latin. Konrad Ruhland directs quite the best Gregorian Chant I have ever heard, this is one of a series with a real feel of tranquil medievalism.

Messe de Nostre Dame (Machaut)
Classic High Church polyphony. A whole sung Latin mass dedicated to the Virgin Mary, written by the 'popstar' composer of the 14th century, Guillaume de Machaut. Wonderfully atmospheric, only the smell of incense is missing, just let it flood over you, and pretend you're in a cathedral five hundred years ago....
